ACE Study Guide

This is a 31-page comprehensive study guide for the ACE health coach exam. Please note that this study guide is not an alternative to reading the textbook! I made this study guide after thoroughly reading through the textbook TWICE, taking practice exams and taking the health coach exam TWICE. Therefore I am familiar with what topics are most important from the textbook and make a large appearance on the exam.

Coming from a straight A college graduate, the ACE health coach exam is NOT easy. In fact, I think it is the first exam I have ever failed. Don’t let this get you down because with the right preparation, it is possible to pass the first time around.

My recommendation for studying is to first read through the textbook, then master this study guide. I have provided all the topics I found necessary from taking the exam twice, including topics that came up consistently on both. Although I have provided most topics I think are important for the exam in this study guide, I have purposely provided chapters for each topic because I think it is wise to get some extra context on the important topics. Once you feel prepared, take the practice tests. If you get a question wrong, go back and understand why. There were several questions on the practice tests that made an appearance on the exam. Note that after taking the practice tests and the exam, I would say that the practice tests are only slightly harder than the exam itself.

I wrote this study guide in the summer of 2019 based on the ACE Health Coach Manuel. I am aware that other versions of the textbook exist, but the general content is the same and the exam is structured for anyone to pass regardless of the textbook version.

Think of this study guide as an investment for your future. I’m selling this in hopes that you pass the first time and save yourself the $200 retake fee like I did. I hope it helps you as much as it helped me and I wish you the best of luck!
