Hey there! I’m Bianca. I’m 26, born and raised in beautiful New Hampshire. I discovered my love of food as medicine while I received my Bachelor of Science in 2018. Through understanding the deep complexities of human biology, I became obsessed with understanding the responsibility I have to care for my well-being. I quickly realized that nothing was more important to me than my own health. And no known external factor in the world can improve your health like food can! From there, I received my Health Coach certification in 2019 to further expand my own knowledge.
If you’ve been here long enough, you probably remember me under the name Vita Pura Health. I left this name when I decided to change my diet from a plant-based one to an animal-based one. It took six years on a vegetarian diet – two of those years on a vegan diet – and hundreds of hours of research for me to come to the conclusion that a vegan diet wasn’t adequate for me. If you’re interested in reading more, I have an in-depth blog post about it here.
My approach to wellness through food focuses on two very important factors – nutrient-density and bioavailability. This approach wouldn’t be possible without the inclusion of animal protein, dairy, and many plant foods.
I am incredibly passionate about connecting to my food sources and nourishing the land by purchasing from small local farms that care about their animals and the environment. By doing so, I can ensure my dollar goes back into my own community and supports my own neighbors. I believe this is the way humans ought to be, bonded together by food security and local dependency.
You may see me change my opinion, revise a recipe or even remove one completely. I’ll never be ashamed to admit when I’m wrong and adjust accordingly. As my knowledge and experience expands, I’m bound to see my mistakes. That’s part of the growing process! But here at Slow Down Company, I promise to always lead with sincerity.
Thanks for being here.
Love always, Bianca
