The perfect party food

These sweet ‘n’ smoky bacon wrapped dates stuffed with goat cheese are such a flavor blast. I love making them for an easy party appetizer as they make the perfect finger food. Trust me when I say everyone will love these, even if they’re new to dates!

  • A sharp knife
  • A mixing bowl

  • Toothpicks (optional)
Substitutions
  • Smoked paprika: can be substituted in equal amounts with regular paprika
  • Soft goat cheese: can be substituted with cream cheese

Ingredients

  • 12 12 medjool dates, pitted

  • 12 12 pieces of bacon

  • 4 oz. 4 soft goat cheese

  • 2 tbsp 2 pure maple syrup

  • 1 tsp 1 smoked paprika

Directions

  • Preheat oven to 350 F.
  • Prep the ingredients. Chop each date in half lengthwise and remove the pit if it has one. Set aside. Cut the bacon in half cross-wise. In a mixing bowl, add the cut bacon, maple syrup and smoked paprika. Use your hands to combine until evenly coated.
  • Bring it all together. Add a small amount of goat cheese to the center of each date. Then take a piece of bacon and wrap it around the date. Use a toothpick to secure it and transfer to a rimmed baking sheet. Repeat with the remaining dates and bacon.
  • Bake for about 15 minutes. The bacon should look browned and crispy. Serve once cool to the touch. Enjoy!
