Ingredients

  • 1 large russet potato

  • 1/2 tbsp butter

  • salt + pepper

Directions

  • Wash and boil potatoes. Potatoes should be boiled whole and unpeeled. Boil until they can be easily pierced with a fork, about 25 minutes.
  • Store cooked potatoes. Drain the water and allow the potatoes to cool. Once cool, package them and store them in the fridge until ready to use.
  • Grate and pan fry. Come morning, your work will be easy. Heat a pan on medium heat and grease with butter. Grate your potato and transfer to your heated pan. Use a spatula to gently pat the hash browns down and season with salt and pepper. Cook on each side until crispy and golden, about 3 minutes each. Enjoy!

Notes

  • 1 large potato makes about 2 servings of hash browns.
