Grilled Banana PB & J Sandwich

Does a PB & J sandwich got anyone else reminiscing on childhood!? How about a PB & fluff?! I’ve heard this is only a New England thing but it was one of my favorite snacks as a kid! 
If you’re ready to level up your PB & J game, you need to try this sandwich! It has buttery, crispy bread, melty peanut butter, banana slices and the fruit preserves of your choosing.

Cooking essentials:
  • A small/medium fry pan
Substitutions:
  • Natural peanut butter: you can use any nut or seed butter.
  • Extra virgin olive oil: you can substitute any high-heat cooking oil. I prefer evoo or avocado oil for their health benefits.

Ingredients

  • 2 slices of whole grain bread (or sub GF bread)

  • 1/2 a banana, sliced

  • 3-4 tbsp natural creamy peanut butter

  • 3-4 tbsp fruit preserves/jam

  • 1 tbsp extra virgin olive oil

Directions

  • Spread the peanut butter, fruit preserves and banana slices on one slice of bread. Top with the second slice of bread to create a sandwich.
  • Add your oil to a pan on medium heat. Once hot, place your sandwich on the pan. Fry on both sides until golden brown, it will only take a few minutes. Enjoy! 🙂
